This top selling black polythene sheeting is a fantastically malleable product; fit for DIY jobs around the home, garden and allotment. This specific thick 1000 gauge black polythene is often used as a damp proof membrane (DPM), sheet for mixing cement, heavy duty window black outs, protecting flooring & furniture during redecorating and as a weed control sheeting in the garden and allotment.
The polythene is manufactured in such a way that it is puncture resistant and waterproof to help protect against leaks and floods.
The thickness of polythene sheeting is expressed in gauge or microns. Gauge was the traditional imperial measurement of polythene thickness, which has now been replaced by micron as the European metric standard. The higher the gauge/microns the thicker the polythene. The gauge of polythene can easily be converted to a micron measurement by dividing it by four. Furthermore, if you want the thickness in millimetres then just divide the gauge by 4000. As an example, 1000 gauge = 250 micron = 0.25mm.
Important: 2M wide polythene up to 20M in length will be supplied flat folded (not on a roll) and in roll form for longer lengths. 4M wide polythene up to 15M in length will be supplied flat folded (not on a roll) and in roll form for longer lengths. Roll format are folded onto a 1M cardboard core.

Very pleased with product. It is v heavy duty and strong. Too soon to say if it will withstand UV light over a long period of time but I have no reason to think that it won't.
