8mm Bungee Cord is the most popular size in our range because it is standard gauge and a high quality piece of kit.

This 8mm bungee cord has a tensile strength (maximum capacity) of 86kg (189ib) and is able to stretch to twice its own length.

Available whilst stocks last in a large array of colours including black, white, grey, red, blue, yellow, and green, in lengths of 5, 10, 15, 20, 50 and 100m.

Bungee can have as many uses indoors as you like, however,  they are most commonly used outdoors for securing tarpaulins or groundsheets over the tops of boats, motorbikes, caravans, trailers, trucks, logs or anything else that you care to protect from the weather. They are the perfect counterpart for any of the tarps or groundsheets that we sell. If you plan to use your bungee a lot, you may wish to improve its usability by adding heavy-duty hook-ends. 

There is an advantage in using bungee over rope or cable ties, simply because it stretches. It is able to absorb exterior blows and stress, so it is often referred to as ‘shock-cord’. Plus, if you happen to cut your bungee a bit short, you will still have some room to work with.

The bungee cord's flexibility aids its durability, just as the pressure as well as wear and tear are taken off the product it is fixing, the elasticity equalises the stress on itself. When working with this kind of rope please be sure to take safety precautions; if under stress it can be dangerous to let go, leaving the bungee to fly around which possibly may cause injury.
